What Age UK is about
Age UK is the country’s largest charity dedicated to helping elderly people in need. They provide everything from companionship, advice, and support for older people who need it most. Heartbreaking and crippling loneliness is endemic within the older population. In care homes as well as for elderly people who live alone, a TV is often their primary source of entertainment and company. Age UK addresses this by organising social activities, transport, exercise classes, and even IT training to alleviate loneliness. It also targets issues such as abuse in care homes.
