Oscar Propulsion built its team across departments with Outsourcery

Two embedded specialists, in growth marketing and product design, are already driving Oscar Propulsion's international brand awareness and redesigning its global D2C platform, with a Finance Manager now being recruited to build the finance function from the ground up.

The challenge

Growing a category-defining business globally requires senior capability across multiple functions, at pace. For Oscar Propulsion, a UK-based sustainable technology company with 36 patents transforming propulsion across Air, Sea and Sport, that pressure has only grown as the business has scaled internationally. Hiring specialist talent locally, in marketing, design and now finance, meant slow timelines, rising cost, and roles that were hard to fill in the UK market at the seniority required. The pressure was familiar: how to build a strong team without compromising on quality, cost, speed or employment risk.

The solution

Oscar Propulsion has worked with Outsourcery since 2023, when the relationship began with a single Marketing Manager. As the business's needs have grown, so has the team. Two further Outsourcerers are now working alongside the wider team, with a third role in progress. A Community Growth and Engagement Manager is driving brand growth across international markets through content, athlete partnerships and community-led storytelling. A UX/UI Designer is leading the design of Oscar's global D2C e-commerce expansion, from mobile-first user journeys to checkout and accessibility standards across markets. Outsourcery is now recruiting a Finance Manager, Oscar's first in-house finance hire, to build the finance function from the ground up and put the systems in place for international scale.

The results

Oscar Propulsion now has two dedicated specialists embedded across marketing and design, working to UK hours as part of the wider team, with a Finance Manager in active recruitment to complete a three-person cross-functional build. What started with a single marketing hire in 2023 has grown into a multi-function team, without the cost, time or employment complexity of hiring the same specialist roles locally.
